1 Million Parents Project (Maternal health, birth kits and parenting):
In rural communities with limited health care providers, bad roads, and often far and hard-to-reach health facilities, a birth kit can make all the difference for a pregnant woman. In the absence of a physical health facility, a midwife can use a birth kit for safe delivery at home. Our birth kit contains the basic needs required on labour day and just a little more to welcome the baby! The bags are made in Ghana in the national flag colours because when a woman gives birth, she gives birth for her nation and her community. The bag is reusable as a maternity bag which is useful to any new parent.
In addition to distributing the birth kits, our goal is to transform parenting through knowledge sharing, training and mentoring between rural and urban communities by creating a network of parents in the city and rural areas who share ideas on best parenting practices to impact each other’s lives.
